Free Crochet Rainbow Baby Blanket Pattern for Dog Lovers

Share your love of dogs (and especially dachshunds!) with the little ones in your life with this fun and free crochet rainbow baby blanket pattern. It’s quick and fun to make. Plus, little ones are sure to enjoy all the bright colors!

This pattern is a great stash buster and it’s perfect for using up scrap yarns. It calls for mainly basic crochet stitches so it’s fairly easy to work out. My favorite thing about this design is that the dog ear and tail aren’t sewed down so they can be moved freely.

I’d love to see your versions of this rainbow dachschund blanket – so make sure you tag me if you make one! @nineinspired on IG & Tiktok and @nineinspiredblog on Pinterest and Facebook

Sew the dachshund onto the blanket. Hold the embroidery needle parallel to the work and anchor your stitches to the horizontal ridges in the blanket. The horizontal ridges should also help you sew in a straight line. You can see the proposed path of the embroidery needle in the following photo.

Avoid the legs, tail, and ear when you sew so that they can move freely. I used the background color of yarn for all my sewing, but you may prefer to switch to the dachshund color when sewing on the head and tail.
