Spider Silk Skirt
What goes better with leggings weather than a cute Halloween skirt that works up quick and features a gorgeous draping spider web design with sparkly silver yarn suspended in a pool of inky black bliss? This skirt would make a great addition to a child’s spider costume or as an everyday layering piece perfect for all things Fall and Halloween.
The signature spider web look of this full skirt was inspired by a granny stitch star. Your child will love the way it drapes and twirls!

Notes
The waistband is worked in rows and then stitched together to form a circle. The length of the skirt is worked in rounds with evenly spaced decreases to mimic the shape of a spider’s web. (similar to a granny star)
Color Changes: When working the last dc of the current color, leave the last two loops on the hook and pull through with the new color.
Tapestry Crochet: Always carry the color you aren’t using along with you, working your stitches around the unworked strand and the stitches you are working into. It is important to do this even on rounds when there is only one color to keep the tension and thickness consistent throughout the work.
Waist
Row 1: Ch 5, hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and each ch across, turn.
Rows 2 – 44 (50, 58) Ch 2, working in the blo, hdc in the same st and each st across, turn. Unstretched your waistband should measure roughly 22 in (25 in, 29 in)
Without twisting the band, sl st the two ends together.
