6 FREE Beginner C2C Patterns to Practice On

Corner to corner crochet is one of my favorite stitches and there are so many amazing patterns out there. The only problem is that there is a little bit of a learning curve! Turning, increasing and decreasing are all much different than what you may be used to in your crochet journey. I have seen many super-talented crocheters get discouraged by a big C2C project because everything is just so different.

My advice is to start small! Check out these resources for learning how to C2C and then pick a quick project from my little free pattern round-up to practice on. A little practice now will pay off big time in the long run for any gorgeous larger projects you’d like to tackle later. Mistakes are much easier to fix on a smaller scale.

2. Mini C2C Stripe Dishcloth

This design uses a variant of C2C called Mini C2C. The little squares that you make are smaller than traditional C2C squares so you can fit more detail in a smaller area. Try your hand at this mini technique with this cute stripe dishcloth

3. C2C Cactus Potholder

One of my favorite things do to with C2C is to make pictures like this cute little cactus potholder. This pixellated style is easily recreated square by square with the C2C technique. Fun fact: you can follow cross stitch and perler bead patterns to make C2C graphs too!

C2C may be challenging at first but it is a very rewarding stitch once you get used to it! It works up so quickly and it looks absolutely stunning! Don’t get discouraged if you’ve tried before and failed. Try again with a smaller project and build your skills up. Every time you practice you will get even better. My motto is progress not perfection. Share your projects in the comments below and let’s celebrate all the little victories together. <3

P.S. When you are ready to start your first big project I would love to have you onboard for my very first CAL. It’s a mini C2C baby blanket inspired by the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Read all about it HERE.
