Row 1: cdc in the 4th chain from the hook (skipped ch 2 counts as hdc), cdc across, hdc in the last ch.
Row 2: sl st back along the top of the first row, cut yarn leaving long tails for sewing.
Assembly
Tuck one side of the first strap under the back of the garment a couple of stitches to the right of the button. The strap and the body of the top should overlap by about an inch.
Sew the strap on using the “Box X” technique as shown and then weave in ends.
Sew one side of the other strap under the back of the garment a couple of stitches to the left of the button loop. The strap and the body of the top should overlap by about an inch. Sew the strap on using the same technique. Weave in ends.
Cross the strap in the back and sew the opposite sides of the straps in the same fashion on the front of the garment. The straps on the front should be positioned on the top of the ripple closest to the arms on either side.
Sew a button across from the button loop on the back of the garment in row 1.
